I live in West Cornwall, which has a diverse landscape of rugged coastlines, woods and moorland. My paintings are inspired by my local landscape and by my childhood. I spent most of my childhood in Devon, hiding in the woods and making dens. I am obsessed with capturing my surroundings and memories of place through texture, atmosphere and strong contrasts. Through my paintings, I hope you can feel the wind on your cheek, the smell of the mud, moss and grass, the sound of the breeze carrying the birdsong, and the rumble of thunder. More than anything else, I want to convey the peace of the wild and the energy and haven of nature. Being a painter is about connecting with you, and my paintings and prints are the start of our conversation.
