Born in Birmingham UK, Graham S. Davis relocated to Lamorna Cornwall 18 years ago. He is a self taught artist exclusive to Webbs Gallery in London.
His work is now mostly oil on canvas or board and is totally influenced by the inspirational surroundings of the Cornish coastline. Graham’s oil seascapes are full of poetry, the lines that separate the sky, the see and the beach are all blurred, creating a mysterious dreamy atmosphere proper to the artist.
“The aim of my art is not to portray the physical reality of a particular place. It is an attempt to capture the atmosphere, the emotional essence of a moment of time, a snapshot in time preserved. Nothing is planned. The work is built up over time in layers. It is only complete when it reaches an intangible correctness.”
