Sarah Ramos
Profile

Artist Statement
I was born and live in London, my work explores our relationship with the natural world and how it enriches us.
I feel that my experience as a children’s picture book illustrator, has given me the foundation on storytelling. I feel that this has influenced my oil paintings, exploring the world with playfulness.
I use sustainable materials, I make my own oil paints using natural oil pigments from the ground and mix them with oils such as walnut.
I then apply my oil paints to surfaces such as linen, or canvas and cotton, all of fine art archival quality used by the old masters.
Education – Studied at Putney Art college, children’s picture book illustration
