Born in 1962 in Chelmo, Poland, Mariusz graduated from the Academy of Fine Art, Cracow in 1987, gaining an MA in Woodcut and Book Design. The son of the director of a leading Polish art museum, Mariusz was encouraged from a young age to develop an interest in the arts as well as being exposed to the range of painting and drawing based practises of the European artists within the museum.Since moving to London Mariusz has been a participant in over 100 exhibitions, including 54 solo shows. He has been 'Artist in Residence' at Regent's Park for the past 9 years, where he has found inspiration for his gift as a painter of nature's landscapes.In May 2009 Mariusz was invited by the National Trust to be their 'Artist in Residence' for Kent and the South East producing paintings which are in turn joyful, mysterious and beautiful. Mariusz has been awarded several prizes in the artworld including Ist prize Nina Hosali Award- Free Painters & Sculptors Society, Editors Choice 2006 - The Artist Magazine, Royal Talens Award, Winsor & Newton Pro Arte Award and Patchings Exhibition Winner 2010. Mariusz was recently featured in the August 2012 edition of 'The Artist ' magazine. He has been represented by Webbs Fine Art since 2002.
